The Tree Of The Knowledge Of Good And Evil
You remind me of myself and others all over the world. Human nature is the same everywhere. People from many different countries and cultures throughout the world are clicking that tree or link and arriving at this site.

What is it that we all have in common?

God, our Creator, and Adam and Eve, the parents of the human race.

God, Adam's Creator told him that he could eat from every tree in the Garden of Eden, except one, and guess what Adam did.

Yes, that's right! He ate from that tree that God told him to not eat from and so did his wife Eve.

Here's the Biblical account of that recorded in the Book of Genesis in Chapter 2:

7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

8 Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.

9 And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground--trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;

17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

God then provided a wife for Adam, and she also understood what God expected of her and what the consequences of disobedience would be.

However, it wasn't long until she started listening to another voice. Yes, that's right, the devil's.Read about it in Genesis, Chapter 3:

3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"

2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,

3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'"

4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman.

5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

She listened! She looked! She ate! And so did her husband!

How tragic -- And now the consequences!

23 So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.

24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

The sin of Adam and Eve separated them from God, their Creator, and also separated all of us in generations to follow from God, our Creator.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

We have all inherited this nature to sin from Adam and Eve, the first parents of the human race. We are born sinners, separated from God, our Creator.

This explains so much about us. Not only the way we act, but also how we feel.

We live with a void inside of us. Something is missing in our lives, but we can't tell exactly what it is. We seek and search for true happiness, but it seems to elude us. It's always just around the corner.

We try all kinds of things that the world offers in order to be happy, but nothing seems to bring true happiness and contentment and peace.

Nothing seems to be able to fill that void or emptiness inside of us!

The problem is that we were created in the image of God, but sin has separated us from a relationship with Him.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Isaiah 59:1 Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.

2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

Since we were all created by God, and because we were all created in His Image, we have a desire and longing to have a relationship with Him, just like Adam and Eve did before they disobeyed God and were cast out of His wonderful presence.

That's what that emptiness or void in our lives is, a longing or desire to have a relationship with our Creator God.

That is why nothing that the world has to offer can fill that void, and nothing can take the place of the real, one and only true God in our lives.

In our search for true happiness, we make many other things into gods, but time after time we are dissapointed and let down.

Some of us even become very religious in our search for true happiness and peace, but we are still left wanting and always will be until we come to know our Creator, the only True God!

How can we know our Creator God, the One who wants to bless us and take care of us and give us the True Happiness that He intended for us in the beginning? Is it even possible?

Yes We Can!
Yes, it is possible to return to God!
That's the Good News!

God has made a way for us to return to Him. But it can't be our way, it must be His way!

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 10:10 Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

So as you see, God has made a way for all of us to return to Him. His way is Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ paid the debt of sin that we owed.

About 2,000 years ago, Jesus died on a Cross for our sins so that we could be forgiven and return to our Creator and have true happiness.

Jesus suffered and bled and died on that Cross for you and I. He gave His life to save us!

2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

God was pleased with the sacrifice of Jesus, and He showed it by raising Him from the dead, after three days, and taking Him to Heaven to sit at His own right hand.

1 Corinthians 15:3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

1 Peter 3:18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,

So we see from Scripture that God our Creator wants us to return to Him, and that the only way to return to God is through Jesus Christ!

You can do that right now, and here is how:

First, realize and admit that you are a sinner!

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Second, believe in Jesus, confess him as Lord, and call upon Him to save you!

Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Next, believe in Jesus' Name and receive Him into your life through prayer!

John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--

13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

Here's a prayer you can pray out loud, right now, right there in front of your computer. God is listening. Call upon Him now!

Dear God! I need you so much!

Thank you for giving Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the Cross in payment for my sins. Please forgive me for my sins that have separated me from you.

I call upon you and ask you to save me right now. I return to you by faith in Jesus Christ.

I open my heart and receive Jesus into my life, and confess Him as my Lord!

Thank you for saving me and receiving me back unto Yourself. I am looking forward to my new relationship with You, God!

Help me to know You and grow in You, Lord, and help me to live a life that pleases You!

In Jesus' Name! Amen!

I just prayed to receive Jesus for the first time.
I prayed to receive Jesus to rededicate my life to Him.
I was already a Christian before coming to this page.
I am not a Christian and did not pray.
