Roger Caplinger has a blessed personal soulwinning ministry. He trusts the Holy Spirit to lead him to at least one lost soul each day that is ready and willing to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and then he helps them do just that.
Roger is Dennis Caplinger's brother and lives in Akron, Ohio with his wife Roseann. Roger has been a strong witness for Christ ever since he was saved, but in 1993 Roger attended a meeting that Stanley Tam had held In Ohio. Brother Tam spoke about trusting God for a soul a day.
God touched Roger in a special way at that meeting. The next day he began trusting God to lead him to people whom God had already prepared their hearts to receive Christ. Each and every day after that he prayed with at least one person, helping them ask Christ to come into their heart and to forgive them for their sins and to be their Savior and Lord.
There were many days that Roger prayed with more than one person. I know of one day that he prayed with fourteen different people to receive Christ. He has many wonderful stories of how God led him to those that were ready and waiting to hear the Good News about Jesus Christ.
This dailing soulwinning went on for about 3 years until the devil tried to kill Brother Roger when he had a stroke in 1996. God intervened and saved Roger's life. He was hospitalized for quite some time, with severe damage to his speech, memory, eyes and arm and leg. The doctor's didn't think he would ever be able to walk or drive again, but God is restoring Roger's health.
In 1997, Roger started going out again each day, even though it wasn't easy for him to get around, and he began leading lost souls to Christ each day. It is so exciting to see Roger trust in God's faithfulness and also to see his determination to keep serving the Lord Jesus and help others come to know Him.
